Jonny Cronin- An Intro Of Taylor Momsen
You might recognize this name from Jenny Humphrey on Gossip Girl; a child actor who, like Jonny Cronin, who decided to give up acting to continue wrestling, Taylor decided to give up on her well-established career to pursue her interest in music as her source of income.
Born on July 26, 1993, in St. Louis, Missouri, U.S, at the age of 2 her parents signed up with Ford for modeling. Following her elder sister’s footsteps(who was also a model), Taylor started her acting career at a very young age. Her professional career started at the age of 3 when she acted in a commercial for Shake ‘n Bake. She was then cast in The Prophet’s Game.
Momsen’s role in How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000), as Cindy Lou proved to be a major breakthrough in her acting career. However, paving her path from this point, Momsen starred in Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams (2002) and Underdog (2007). At the beginning of 2007, Momsen decided to play the role of Jenny Humphrey in The CW television series Gossip Girl. This role specifically gained huge fandom for her and with her breathtaking performance, was immediately loved by all the screen viewers.
Momsen not only took a keen interest in acting but the idea of modeling was also very intriguing for her. At the age of 14, Momsen debuted in this field by signing a contract with IMG Models. Her looks and killer confidence aided Momsen in creating a fortune in this industry. She was soon the representative model for many brands featuring many different collections. After this, it was not far-fetched for Momsen to have photoshoots for the cover of various different magazines.
However, like Jonny Cronin, Taylor Momsen didn’t find peace in acting and soon her interest in this field started to deteriorate. Jonny Cronin left acting to pursue his interest in wrestling, likewise, Momsen quit acting to follow her dream of becoming a singer. Nonetheless, unlike Jonny Cronin who remained hidden from the public eye, Taylor continued to be in front of cameras due to her profession.
Undoubtedly, Momsen always had an interest in music. She started writing and singing songs at the age of 7. Music was like a way to express herself. Hence, taking her interest to the next level, she continued to form a band under the name of ‘The Pretty Reckless’ and soon after sealed the deal with Interscope Records. Luckily, this decision proved to be fruitful for her career because Momsen along with her bandmates was able to perform back-to-back hit tracks. Her tours to different cities were also a major breakout for the band. The songs broke the records gaining immense popularity among the music lovers. The band became the first female-fronted band to reach №1 on the rock radio charts with its first two singles: “Heaven Knows” in March 2014 and “Fucked Up World” in September 2014.
Hence Taylor Momsen continues her journey from acting to music by releasing their new song Death by Rock and Roll on February 12th, 2021.
